The Author
I am a 30-something ex-software engineer who retired at age 31. I have ambitions to create a $10 million nest egg to achieve financial freedom by the age of 40 by consistently building out my investment portfolio over the years.
Throughout my 20s, I’ve gained lots of experience in real estate investing through the purchases of 8 properties. In my early 30s, I flipped half a dozen homes and bought several more rental properties. I’ve certainly had lots of success through those investments, but I’ve also had lots of headaches along the way. I’ve also invested in the stock market through retirement accounts and individual brokerages. Lastly, I’m no CPA, but I’ve certainly leveraged my tax knowledge to fuel higher profits from my investments. That’s why I decided to start Buck by Buck, where I share my financial knowledge and experiences so others can learn from my success, as well as my mistakes.
To learn more about my plans to reach financial independence with $10,000,000 by age 40, read my blog post.
My Philosophy
My approach to building wealth is not through penny-pinching, nor is it by relying on sheer luck. Instead, I advocate for a balanced approach by simplifying complex finances and through living a happy, healthy life. I believe in building wealth without sacrificing the life I want to live today. I don’t stress out over short-term swings in the stock market or that I went over budget by a few bucks the past month. Instead, I focus on my long-term strategy to consistently invest enough to achieve financial freedom.
One of the most common problems with wealth-building is that people don’t take action. Many people struggle to change their (bad) financial habits and dwell on poor decisions they’ve made in the past. Through this blog, I hope to motivate people to look ahead and tackle each problem one step at a time. After all, building wealth is a marathon, not a sprint.
